After another day of being talked about in the media, Misty Cummings speaks out exclusively to me and reacts to rumors about the divorce, her involvement in the disappearance of Haleigh and what “lies” ahead.
I asked her why she and Ronald are getting divorced.
“I don’t know why, I don’t want a divorce, I love Ron and his children.”
What did Ronald tell you was the reason he wanted a divorce?
“Ronald told me he wants a divorce because of my family, what law enforcement is saying, and everyone else who is telling lies about me. Again I really don’t know why, but I’m going to give him the divorce, and I’m not going to fight him in any way. I want the focus back on Haleigh and not on the divorce.”
When I asked about visiting law enforcement she detailed what that visit entailed.
“I was there to tell them where I was staying, and tell them how to reach me. I was there for about an hour yesterday before I left for Orlando. I just listened as they talked and never asked me any questions.”
What did they say to you?
“I can’t talk about that right now.”
What is your reaction to the beating you are taking on shows like Nancy Grace?
She responded, “Stop turning this into a soap opera and focus on finding Haleigh.”
What’s next for you — what are your plans now??
“I want to get a job and go back to school, put some normalcy back in my life. I will continue to help LE in any way I can.”
Tonight, on a cable news show, you were accused of changing your story — how do you respond?
“My story has not changed, just cause I don’t always use the exact same words to tell the story, that’s all.”
Misty is definitely feeling the pressure of this intense media attention. She sounded weary and fragile. I have a feeling this will all come to an end soon. Will bring you more tommorow. Don’t shoot the messanger.

You might let her know that Florida is a no fault divorce state and all assets are spilt down the middle, half and half. Misty is entitled to half of what Money Ron has and that includes unemployment. BUT, many of us think this divorce thing is a hoax, for some stupid reason they have come up with.
If you saw Ron on NG, he spent a lot of time giggling. Man never looked happier and Haleigh was the furthest thing from his mind.
You might want to watch it again. I see him smiling when he realized he made himself sound silly, and that he needed to spell it out for ng that he means all the stress of people pointing looking asking questions and the problems with mistys family is bringing on stress which has been part of the problem.. Well with ronald mother working for LE I think their going to just look at misty and her family but not at ronald,It is sad while he was on NG he never tried to reach out and talk about finding haleigh. “You have to understand that ever since Haleigh went missing, they have been scrutinized,” Beardsley said of the Cummingses. “They can’t go out to dinner, can’t even go to the convenience store to get a drink. … The pressure of everything that is going on, the allegations and speculation, has been a stress on the relationship.
The two lived together for about six months before marrying in March. The divorce agreement provides no financial terms, according to Shoemaker.
On Monday, Misty Cummings left Satsuma to stay with a friend in Orlando, 50 miles south, Shoemaker said.

I feel sorry for Misty & Ron. I don’t think either one of them did anything to Haleigh, and I think it’s very sad they won’t have each other for support through this.
I feel very sorry for Misty…her family are useless, and they’ve moved her from town to town all her life and she’s never formed any solid friendships…I hope she has someone she trusts and that loves her to support her through this.

Good morning all. I am not familiar with drugs. Do you’ll think he is taking something due to nervousness or just to relax? Maybe someone should watch him more closely too.
I would imagine if my child was missing for 8 months and no sign of her, and I was under the stress that he is under, My Dr would put me on meds also.
I seen him smile what is called a nervouse smile at one time, but being a parent of a missing child, he shouldnt be smiling at all, is what some people thing. I think he smiled because Nancy made him look like a fool with he gave his partial answer. The is a possiblity that Misty was asleep and knows nothing more. I and my children sleep deeply. When Misty states that she kinda woke up and jr must of been getting up to get a drink cause she felt him climbing over her during the night, she looked at the bedroom door, jr standing their. Could someone of been reaching over to pick Jr up off the bed and this stirred Misty enought to open her eyes for a second realize jr is moving about and close her eyes again. then for some reason, she looked back by the door. was this because she felt for a mear second that something didnt feel right, she sees ok it is jr just getting up for a drink and went back to sleep…… Could Misty stiring scare the person out of the house who was attempting to take the jr. Could someone at the house that day of unlocked the door secretly so they can come back later to steal that gun, but changed their mind when they couldnt find the gun or seen the kids laying there so peacefully.. I mean the gun was stolen once, and it seems tommy and or his cousin wanted that gun or a gun.. it was stolen once, maybe Someone came back for it, didnt get it, got the child, but still in need of a gun later was arrested for stealing yet another gun.. I mean how well did the police really check the alibi of tommy if it is just now coming out that he was at the house.. They are my opinions too! I don’t think PCSO have done much of an investigation and think there are LE egos getting in the way of this case getting solved.
Tommy & Lisa are desperate druggies who robbed a vulnerable and kind old neighbor….yet LE act like they are citizens of the year and seem to believe everything Tommy tells them. It seems to me these 2 would do anything for drugs, perhaps including selling a child.
Re Crystal’s family…her mom used to run a drug house, her father has done time in jail for dog fighting and other things, her brother/partner has a drug history and we know they found crack at their property. Crackheads do crazy things. And we know MG lied/got it wrong re Chad being home the night Haleigh went missing.

From what Ron says, it sounds to me like the cops think Ron is the lock.
Ron was probably giggling because he’s stupid & thinks his plan has worked: convince his ‘dumb bitch’ girlfriend that he loved & needed her. check. convince her that they were in this together. check. make her a part of his family while alienating her from HER ‘disfunctional’ family. check. then toss her to the curb, all alone in the world. check.

That is almost verbatim what Ronald said on the Nancy Grace Show. Misty is going to have alot of studying to do just to pass the GED. I don’t think an employer would hire her because of the cloud of suspicion hanging over her.
Misty has served her purpose as far as the C’s are concerned, IMO. Anything she has to say will be considered another lie. If she was asleep and “they” took her out and cleaned up the MH, then she really is not going to know where Haleigh is located unless someone let it slip. A deal would have to include details which she may not have.

I have never felt so sorry for such a young woman as I do Misty. She should be graduating from high school and looking forward to college. Instead she was a child raising herself then raising children. I hope the good people caring for her will encourage an education. There is money out there for kids left to raise themselves. Keegan I feel the same way.Another point, how is it ok to put Mistys face all over the tv and talk about her like a criminal when it is not ok to show the faces of teens that r being arrested. I feel that is pure child abuse… How much can one average 17yr old with the suport of a normal family take, no less a child who stands alone. Misty would know who took Haleigh and although she may truly NOT KNOW where she is now, she knows where to start.

I totally agree and was distressed to think perhaps Steph is putting words in her mouth.
On her Myspace she spells “missing”…”missy”.. The letter she wrote agreeing to the testing Tim Miller set up looked like a 1st grader wrote it.
Misty has a long and hard road ahead of her.
I guess if u asked around many single parents wouldnt be able to say that when they go to work they watch THEIR own kids..
If he would of hired a baby sitter, what age do kids start babysitting these days. If he hired a adult baby sitters, he probable wouldnt of been able to so much money on all those nice beds they have. If his mother watched them everyday, people would say he coudlnt even take care of his own family, his mother is raising his children. Give the guy a break, daycares are not open at those hours. How many single parents do you thinking use teenagers as baby sitters while they work. I would imagine they was living as a married couple, she played mommy and he suported her, since her lovely mommy was such a good mother to her.
There are many children having children these days, we cant go take all those babys from them can we. Rons own mother said Misty was so good to both children.
I believe if you check, that he could have gotten help from the state with his babysitting issues. I know that here Job and Family Services will pay all of the fee for babysitters for families that are on certain income levels. It works on a sliding scale, the more you make the more that you pay of the total.
They have people that sit 24 hours a day because parents work all shifts. I have a friend that sits for kids overnight even on the weekends. She takes off 2 weeks a year for her vacation and makes more than most of the people that she sits for.
So if he were worried about having a babysitter and that is why he moved Misti in that excuse won’t hold water. The state here even will pay for daycare for parents that need to sleep during the day because they work evenings or night shift.
Someone just pointed out on another site that about the around the last 17 seconds of the 911 call…(after the operator called them back)…you can hear someone pushing buttons – with the beep, beep, beep, (and not the 911 beep that happens periodically)like someone trying to start a microwave or some washing machines make those noises. It’s not a cell phone because cell phones don’t have monotone beeps.
Then you can hear Ron in the background saying, “F_ck,”…..and something that sounds like this thing will not start.
Did Ron start the washing machine? Or was he fixing himself a little snack in the microwave right in the midst of calling 911 because his daughter was missing? Go listen to that 911 call.

If Misty’s lawyer advised her to try to get some normalcy in her life, she would have learned a new word that she probably isn’t accustomed to using and certainly something she has never had the luxury of experiencing in her short 17 years on earth. Maybe the fact that she is probably being used as a scapegoat will have a positive effect – a silver lining to the cloud.
Maybe hanging out a little with her lawyer and people besides drug users and dealers will help her acquire a larger, more sophisticated vocabulary. Maybe the lawyer will give her advice her own father or mother certainly don’t have never had brains enough to give her.
She can get a job as a waittress. She’s young. She’s pretty and with experience eventually she can work in a really nice restaurant where she gets good tips and even had great benefits. You don’t have to be able to spell to be a good waitress. You only have to know how to be friendly and SMILE…. orders are abbreviated anyway.
She needs to get away from all those people including her knight in shining armour (NOT!) Ronald – the guy that likes to put decapitated rats in people’s mailboxes.
Oh please, she needs to be able to count change to be a waitress. No one will keep her employed if she is that ignorant. She never made it passed the 6th grade. She couldn’t tell the 911 operator what the number of the address because she didn’t know what numerical meant. She called Haleigh’s hair ..white..instead of blond. She said Haleigh weighed 60 pounds when she only weighed 39 pounds. She said 3 feet was four inches.
As far as her looks are concerned, she looks dirty and unkempt all the time. When she showed off her engagement ring, her fingernails were filthy. She doesn’t even know how to keep herself clean. Her hair is always greasey.
These are some of the words she would have learned in 6th grade and she is no where near this level, and I know for a fact she couldn’t do algebra much less addition and subtraction.

She would not need algebra or even need to be any good at addition or subtraction to run a cash register (cash registers tell the cashier exactly how much change to give)….and I’m betting she can count change just fine.
In many restaurants, the waittress NEVER handles credit cards or cash anyway. They just pick up the tips and put them in their pocket off the table or accept the credit card tips when given to them.

That is a disgusting thing to say. Perhaps if Crystal had paid child support they might have had bed frames. Who cares anyhow….there are lots of very loved and well cared for children living without expensive bedroom sets. Do you think all poor people make bad parents? A lot of rich kids with fancy beds grow up pretty screwed up too, don’t ya know? Money doesn’t buy love or happiness. But Crystal should have cared enough about her kids to pay child support….that part is sad.
There are inconsistencies in the child’s story because she doesn’t have the language skills to describe what happened. That is why each time the story changes. I nearly cried listening when she said her bed and the one Misty was one were about three inches apart. She doesn’t realize that her foot is longer than that. LE might have gotten the exact same story had they allowed her to show them by walking through the trailer with her. This little one is at such a disadvantage. No education. No one has taken the time. I also believe she has learning disabilities that there never identified. Does it mean she can’t learn? No it just means she learns differently and she has never had an advocate.
If someone like u took the time with Misty she would of had a much better education. That girl seems smart and strong to me if u look at what she grew up with. I dont see her in a gang.. LAKE MARY, Fla.— The person who last saw Haleigh Cummings before the child disappeared has been accused of chasing another driver on a busy highway in a fit of road rage.
Deputies said Misty Croslin Cummings was the aggressor in the chase that caused a woman to fear for her life. The woman spoke exclusively to WESH 2 Wednesday night.

I believe that you about the only one that doesn’t have tunnel vision as to who could have been responsible for Haleigh missing other than Misty. All they can say was that she was the last one to see her. I didn’t know until recently that Ron’s Mom went over there that night to take back some of Haleigh’s laundry. Why are they keeping that a secret? If Misty said she didn’t feel well, why didn’t Ron’s Mom be the responsible one and take care of them or if Ron thought she was messed up why didn’t he take the kids to his Mom’s house. Misty has been stronge and has stayed by her story since that night. How many get up to go to the bathroom OR get a drink and saw a light on and forgot what they got up for. I would hate to be the one questioned and drilled when I woke up. It never would come out right, especially when you’re distracted. Why isn’t Ron’s mother talking about when she went over to Haleigh’s that night? Like Misty said they have been focusing on her too much, they need to check the other side.

Another lady was driving. My guess is the other person in the other car tried some of the same “Jerry Springer” stuff that the people outside the Anthony house did….some shouting went back and forth.
Misty was not driving so it couldn’t have been Misty running them off the road and when the police searched the car, they couldn’t find a gun so the claims that Misty threatened them with a gun proved false as well.
The problem with this kind of “press” is that people in the general public start to get outright “hate ons” for people, a lynch mob mentality starts to emerge.

I am in no way saying that Misty is for sure innocent but the police cleared Ron and have been pointing fingers at Misty for 8 months now, yet there is no evidence. Years ago a was told that is it common practice for theifs to come to a home as a friend, family or repair person and during their visit at your home they will unlock a bathroom window or a backdoor or both to gain enterance into you home when they no u will not be home.. I dont see why others dont see this as more likely being the case then Misty doing something and leaving no evidence. Look at the cousin and Tommy they was both in the house recently and it has been said that they stole Rons gun in the past but it was found and Ron got it back. Tommy was back at the house and the cousin was in town. When Tommy was there he could of easily unlocked the back door, he then asked her to babysit at his house that night, that way he would now where both Ron and Misty was and could return to the house….. His mom or cousin may of also been involved with this. Tommy puts himself right back at that trailor in his last statement to police. Isnt it possible Tommy new she was sleeping deep again, because he knocked on the door and she didnt answerm he realized she was sleeping and if hewas caught in the home he had a good reason to be there, he would just say he was checking on her because Ron was worried about her. Maybe Haleigh was sleeping in a way that appeared sexual to him or who ever was in that house so they or whom ever took her. Remember the van being moved, the van having a scratch on it and the keys being where the cousin had access to them… Could of Tommy and cousin of planned to meet at Rons house when Misty a certain time as they figured she would be babysitting at his house that night.. I dont no why this dont seem like a more likely story…These r only my oppinions of what could of happened, I have no idea what did happen..

I am all for getting Haleigh’s name out there but it should have been ongoing from day one. Each passing second counts when it comes to a missing child/person. Each second that Haleigh is gone, it is less likely she will be found alive. Too many months went by without any action from RC.
While alot of the younger crowd might watch Mo Po, it would not be a show of choice to get my missing child’s information out there.
If RC were willing to take a LDT on the show, I might consider it worthy. As far as I am concerned, it is alittle to late for RC to try and save himself. He stood by Misty way too long.

Hello i have posted on a few other forums and have read alot of theories,,What has been on my mind lately was when they set the tents up in the yard.
WHY ?? While the Sheriff was searching Satsuma the surrounding area inside there trailer, Ronald and Misty had been staying in a tent,I have never known of a family member strugling with the loss of a family member want to stay inside a tent rather than there own home or a family home.
I guess what Worries me is they could have buried anything under the tent untill the time was right to remove whatever and who would know anything.
The grass under the tent would be dead and the ground would be destroyed from the trampling inside the tent, Law Enforcement would have finshed with the dogs and there walk around.
I remember watching the news within a few weeks of Haleigh missing, Ronald was inside the tent and they asked him why he was not out searching for Haleigh and he stated no one came by that day wanting to help him.
A father needs motovation searching for there missing child, Or could Ronald have been making sure the tent was not moved or the ground under searched.
Its just a thought but i wonder if Law Enforcement ever considered this and looked for evidence where the tent once stood.

A lot of people have her tried and convicted on the basis of that polygraph which for obvious reasons would not be admissable in court.

Interesting. You know the one thing that really makes me get my hopes ups is the fact that after watching the Anthony circus, people could get the idea that if they have a missing child, they could rake in the dough.
Then my fantasy is that Haleigh is with a distant relative or friend being well cared for while her guardians run a con. Far from ideal as if it gets found out because it takes away from missing children that need us to believe in good faith that they really are missing, I wouldn’t put it past Ron who no longer seems to have a need for a job.
But has the FBI checked out distant relatives and acquaintances? How thoroughly has that been investigated? Have Ron or Mother Teresa been sending anyone any money on a regular basis? Money orders or checks?
I certainly hope they have been paying attention to the news. The family of 5 murdered in Illinois has brought charges against others… obstructing an investigation.
If anyone has had this child and the family has known, they should all be charged and made to repay every cent the county has spent investigating. Also, custody should be relinquished, visitation stopped for a long time. How could they send Haleigh off for monetary gain for nearly 8 months now.

This is so messed up…Tim Miller tired his best to uncover what LE wouldnt, or refused to uncover…..DCF failed yet another child in this mix….and that is Haleighs brother… Why didnt Tim help with the DCF investigation. Please get over the smoking bit and the double negatives…(nobody doesn’t). Misty’s smoking is irrelevant and insignificant as far as finding Haleigh.
