Hank “Tommy” Croslin Jr. , brother of Misty Croslin, also in jail on drug charges, was sentenced this morning morning to 15 years in prison for trafficking in prescription drugs.
Circuit Judge Terry LaRue sentenced Tommy Croslin to 15 years on the charge of trafficking in Roxicodone. Another sentence of five years in prison for drug possession will be served at the same time.
Misty Croslin, was the last known person with 5-year old Haleigh Cummings when the little girl disappeared from her Putnam County home in February 2009.
The drug-trafficking charges resulted from an undercover operation in January, and also included the arrest of Ronald Cummings, Haleigh’s father, Donna Brock and others. Croslin’s lawyer, James Werter, urged the judge to consider Tommy Croslin’s cooperation with the investigators in the Haleigh Cummings’ case. Cooperation?? What cooperation??
The prosecution, which was seeking a 30-year sentence — countered that Tommy Croslin only came forward when facing serious prison time — and that he failed to tell authorities what had happened in the home the night Haleigh was reported missing.
This Tuesday marks the 18th month mark of her disappearance. Haleigh’s birthday is August 17th, and what’s left of the family on the “outside” is planning a balloon release in her honor. Maybe now seeing her brother get 15 years will refresh Misty’s drug clouded memory a little about what happened the night Haleigh disappeared.
It appears that 15 years seems to be the going rate. Donna Brock and Hope Sykes received the same.
It will be interesting to see what Misty and Ron’s sentence will be.
My bad, in my post yesterday. Donna Brock is yet to be sentenced on Sept. 1st.
Only 15? CNN claims he would be serving somewhere near 100 years, at least according to their transcripts. That means he’ll likely be out in less than two years. Is that true Justice?
Tommy was charged with trafficing 5 gms – the sentencing for that amount is 3 years. (Do judge’s get to make up their own rules now days?)
Florida sentencing:
4 gms to 14 gms = 3 yrs
15gms to 28 gms = 15 yrs
Over 28gms = 25 yrs.
They must serve the minimum. This is known as mandatory sentencing. The only exception the judge can make to give less than the minimum is when the prosecution (State) asks for less and has good proof and reasoning to why they request it.

I am sure Tommy will do a lot less time ….something like 18 months ….I think the long sentence at this point is to scare the heck out of Misty ….Perhaps that is why her sentencing is so much later. I am sure she is crapping her pants just thinking about 15 years
By the time it goes to trial, if convicted at all, he will likely get time-served and would be immediately released. At least according to what some Experts have stated. I don’t think he is worried at all, he has no reason to be. He will likely be a millionaire soon after his upcoming release-date.
Please can anyone verify -Proof-
of a contempt of court hearing for truancy on 2-9-09 for Ronald Cummings?
does anyone know where the docket is if there is one?
